Recipe for Spaghetti with Meatballs
This is a recipe from my kindergarten cookbook that I made with my grandfather who has been making Italian food for me my whole life
- Ingredients
- 1 lb lean beef, 1 lb pork, ground together
- 1 cup day-old Italian bread, crusts--discarded and shredded
- 1/4 cup minced parsley
- 2 eggs, raw
- 3/4 cup grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped fine
- 1/2 small onion, chopped fine
- 2 cups tomato sauce (more if wanted)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Salt
- Milk
- Directions
- Soak bread in milk 20 minutes, then squeeze to drain it well
- Heat tomato sauce
- Mix the meat and combine it with the bread, eggs, cheese, parsley, garlic, and onion
- Take a palm full of mixture and roll into a round shape
- Heat a frying pan and add olive oil
- Fry the meatballs in olive oil. Turn them so they brown all around
- When they're done, put in tomato sauce and heat through
